Why you should clean gas stoves

A gas stove is the most essential equipment when it comes to cooking. It’s equally important to keep it clean for various factors. First, hygiene! A messy gas stove will attract cockroaches and other undesirable creatures to your kitchen, which could be a cause of several diseases. Second, maintenance! Gas stoves ideally should last for a long time. Keeping them clean will help in its overall maintenance. Third, fuel efficiency! Food droppings on burners reduce the burning efficiency of fuel. Thus, it’s important to keep them sparkling clean.

Regular Cleaning

For day-to-day cleaning, you can use just dish soap and water. First, remove the burners and soak them in soapy water. Meanwhile, dust off the dry food particles from the stovetop with a dry kitchen towel. Then, use a sponge soaked in dish soap and start rubbing the stovetop. You can use water to rinse it for the final process and then dry it off with a kitchen towel. Take out the burners from the soap water and rinse them with plain water. You can now place them back on the stovetop.

Deep Cleaning

If there are deep stains on your stovetop, then you can opt for baking soda and white vinegar to clean them. You can spray white vinegar over your stovetop and gas burner and layer it with baking soda for a few minutes. Then clean it off with a scrub, you will notice that the stains will start breaking down easily.

Antibacterial Solution

Lemons are a natural disinfectant. You can include them in your weekend cleaning along with warm water. You can damp the cloth with a solution of lemon and warm water and clean it to wipe away food droppings and particles from your stovetop. This will also keep your kitchen smelling fresh and welcoming.

After soaking them in the cleaning solution of your preference (dish soap or baking soda), you can use a toothbrush to remove the minute particles from their pores.
